# Proof Monitor

> Give a link and plain-language instructions. A real browser or phone checks your web page or app, and you get a pass/fail result with screenshots as evidence. Free, no signup.

Proof Monitor opens a web page in a real cloud browser (or installs an Android/iOS app on a real phone) from a network in the country you choose, follows a few steps, and judges plain-language pass/fail statements from the recorded screens. Every verdict comes with an explanation and screenshots stored by us, on a public result page.

## When to use it
- Check what visitors in another country see: currency, prices, language, region-specific content, cookie/consent banners.
- Check live content against a spec: a creative or ad placement against an approved image, page copy against a text/CSV/JSON file.
- Smoke-test a mobile app build (APK/IPA): it installs, opens, and the first screens work.
- You need evidence (screenshots, a shareable result URL) a human can look at, not just an HTTP status.

## When not to use it
- Uptime or latency monitoring, load testing, or API testing: use an uptime/HTTP monitor.
- Pages behind a login, unless the instructions include test credentials you are allowed to share.
- Anything that needs a precise GPS location, timezone or device language: regions are set by IP address only.
- Apps you can only point to in a store: we cannot download from Google Play or the App Store. Upload the APK/IPA, or file a download request for a person to handle.
- Scheduled/recurring monitoring: waitlist only for now (https://proofmonitor.dev/monitoring).
- Sensitive data: results and screenshots are public to anyone with the link.

## API (free, no key)
All endpoints are JSON over HTTPS. Results are public by unguessable id.

1. Optional: upload reference files (PNG/JPEG/GIF/WebP up to 10 MB, MP4/WebM/MOV up to 100 MB, text/CSV/JSON up to 512 KB, APK/IPA up to 300 MB):

2. Start a check. Returns 202 immediately with an id and a result URL:

   Other request forms:
   - {"url": "...", "instructions": "free text"}: we plan the checks for you (422 with "plan" if something is missing).
   - {"plan": {...}}: a plan from POST https://proofmonitor.dev/api/plan, edited as you like.
   - add "upload_ids": ["up_..."] to attach uploaded files; an uploaded APK/IPA makes it an app check.

3. Poll for the result (every 10-30 s; a run takes a few minutes, plus queue time):

## Limits
- 5 checks per network per day, 3 regions and 10 statements per check. A global daily cap applies. Limits reset at 00:00 UTC; over the limit you get HTTP 429.
- Web checks: any country (ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code) or "us"/"europe". App checks: "us" or "europe" only.
- Runs share a small pool of devices and queue first come, first served; the response includes your queue position.
